Parish walkers.

Never seen anything like it. Quite funny bumping into H on the top of a hill, that was a proper look of surprise ;)

Well done all 8)

Steve, I'm never surprised by you, my dear! Hadn't clocked Clookie, though. We'd been broken down for about an hour, and just got the car sorted and Michael's blisters fixed. Knew the Red cross fella, and then saw you... no hiding place...eh?

45 miles for Hayley
32.5 for Dan (and for Trevor, one of our scrutineers)
30.5 for me.

Where did Michael finish Helen? Anyone else?

bloody hell,
I'd have trouble getting that far on a bus.
Well done all.
I took the shell off my racing snail thinking it would make him faster.
It just made him more sluggish.

Poor Michael got pushed through a huge puddle on the TT Access road and as a result was walking with wet feet all the way. He got massive blisters and was very very cold (although he thought he wasn't!). Made it to the top of the Sloc and then gave up. Learned a lot and he's keen to do next year's and maybe the End to End in September (It's only about 50 miles!). Think he did very well for a first time. Very proud of him.

You just can't predict it. I did loads of training last year, 50 miles a week and could hardly move on the Monday. I only had 4 blisters but they were big, open wounds. This year, on no training, I have 6 blisters, almost healed already and no leg or hip stiffness at all. Wouldn't know I'd done it! Raring to go for next year!!!!

PS,I had the best support crew ever.

I think you need to look up something called "moleskin" or failing that masking or electrical tape work in a pinch. Not really sure what a "parish walk" is but I did a lot of Volks-march's as a kid and a lot of backpacking as a young adult.
