Marin Motorsports & Leeds Parcel Company Join Forces With Team A.R.C. For 2020 Campaign

Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie are aiming to build on their impressive foundations on the short circuits and at the “real road” courses over the last few years in the coming season. The highlight of 2020 looks set to be the Isle of Man TT Races, where Lee will make his debut as a driver, although Scott has already put two successful visits under his belt, with a best finishing position to date of ninth place in Race B in 2019.

As well as the TT, the team will also be looking to build upon last year’s podium spot at the Southern 100 Races, and continue their run of dominance at Oliver’s Mount. They will also be hoping for consistent top three results in the A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship, to put them in a position as serious contenders to land the coveted title, after twice finishing as runners-up.

The overall package for the new season is shaping up to be the best yet, following a 2019 season developing the new chassis with longer swinging arm and larger radius rear tyre. Mechanical improvements have been made in a bid to further increase reliability, with both driver and passenger training hard – taking in excess of four stone off their combined weight.

Obviously, to mount a serious campaign, heavy investment is required, and as well as personal input, Team A.R.C. would like to welcome our three title sponsors, whose invaluable support is paramount to us putting the best possible package on the grid.

Marin Motorsport is a name familiar to followers of sidecar racing on both sides of the Atlantic, and it gives us great pleasure to welcome them on board this year. A massive concerted effort behind the scenes at Marin Motorsport has been the major driving force behind the Scottish sidecar racing renaissance over the last five years, following a period which had seen the sport in a gradual decline north of the border. The Marin organisation has also assisted many competitors in numerous situations, and Team A.R.C. are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Boris Stroud and his colleagues in the 2020 season.

Saunders Complete Waste Management bring their valued sponsorship to Team A.R.C. for a third consecutive season. Once again, we would like to extend our gratitude to Les Saunders, the owner of the Swindon-based company for his continued loyalty and dedication to the team.

Andy Wilby, a regular British F2 Championship and Oliver’s Mount sidecar competitor is sadly taking retirement from competing for personal reasons. However, his intentions are to stay closely involved in the sport, and Team A.R.C. are delighted to welcome him and his business Leeds Parcel Company on board with a lucrative two year sponsorship package, and we are pleased that he will maintain a presence in the sidecar paddock through his involvement with the team.

Thanks of couse go to all other sponsors and supporters for their valued assistance – it is down to their commitment and backing that the team has been able to make improvements to the full package for the 2020 season. Team A.R.C. will be striving to reward them all with befitting results to reflect the massive level of support received.

A pre-season shakedown will take place at East Fortune with a test weekend on the 21st and 22nd March. This will be followed up with the first competitive outing of the year at Team A.R.C.’s local circuit, Croft, where they will be looking to reclaim the Mac Hobson Trophy (which they have won four times) over the weekend of the 4th and 5th April, a fortnight before the opening round of the A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship at Oulton Park.
