TT number plates

Unread post by ChrisWells »

Can't find anything in the 2014 rules stating they have to be rectangular, only a minimum width and height. So as long as rectangle of that size could be traced within the red (of the proper color) object, would that be accepted as a number plate? E.g. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... br_red.png

BTW there are two specifications for the front number plate in the 2014 TT rules and none for the side number plate. Assuming the 2nd one was suppose to be for the side plate?

If you've got a red bike you just stick the numbers on it, you don't have to mark out the plate.

Alright then, I've read last years regs and they seem very clear to me.
The minimum dimensions of front numbers are as follows:-
Background Height of figure Width of figure Width of stroke Space between 2 figures
285mm x 235mm 140mm 80mm 25mm 15mm
The minimum dimensions of front numbers are as follows:-
Background Height of figure Width of figure Width of stroke Space between 2 figures
260mm x 220mm 120mm 70mm 25mm 15mm
That doesn't mean that this years will be the same.
Bl00by COLONIALS.

That doesn't strike anyone else as slightly redundant and contradictory?

(It's requirements like these that lead to planetary probe missions that try to land 25' under the surface!)

Chris. . .I believe that you are getting confused with people who actually give a sh*t about the exact dimensions of your number backplate . . . .But, if that’s the biggest problem you have before your first time at the TT next year. . .’Bring it on’ . .as you ‘guys’ over the pond woud say !!! :?

Wal, your spelling of would is incorrect.
Pull yourself together, how can we give the colonials a b0ll0ck1ng if we are not correct. 8-) 8-)

I'm not gonna measure the number plate! The only issue is if the timekeepers complain they can't read your number. So no fancy italics, no shiny backgrounds.

KEW, thank you for correcting Wal for me :P
