TT newcomers form frame test

Unread post by steve-e »

This is just a test ;) (although the form is live I will reset it before we start properly so don't fill it in yet)
With all the newcomers coming over next weekend I've been playing with a form for John Newton to help him with his commentator info. It's not right yet so don't fill it in, but do you have any extra questions or bits to change before it goes live?
For me, the name should be split into first and second, and the location should be split into two separate fields.
We'll get there anyway and it should help John out. I'm thinking this might be handy for non newcomers as well if John doesn't have everything covered but he's done a great job so far, the commentators at the TT do like his information.

BASICALLY, input welcome :D before it goes live onto a spreadsheet next week.. and if the newcomers don't fill it in we'll get them to do it on a hard copy next weekend.. all being well.

Won't know the numbers until the entries are sorted. Even then we have to ask the teams for them as that is a copyright TT programme thing so the numbers aren't readily available unless you buy it but H always asks the teams nearer the time. We are 100 days away, you don't get that much build up from BSB however hard they try (no offence intended Stuart but it IS true)
I know what you mean Mum about driver and passenger together. I think John will be able to tie the two together though. This is more for John and the commentators, if I was going to use this for my original idea of posting articles about newcomers to the TT then I would have to ask them separately again.

Hi Steve,

Don't have family members that have raced but do have friends in the team that have been influential.

Also, what about other none racing interests and professions? Is that relevant?

Just asked the family and they said they like to hear none racing information as it's more personable. Especially when you consider all of the work that goes into preparing for the TT.

Jo and meself were saying that earlier, needs more personal stuff but suggestions? I wanted to ask fave ice cream but didn't dare ;) and it seems Jo's gone offline, she either hates me or one of the boys tripped over the laptop lead. :?

I can't find the one I did a couple of years ago... funnily enough I was about to print them off for this coming weekend. I asked the usual.. name, who's your pass/driver... what outfit..where do you come from, age (always interesting to commentators!) first race?, pass or driver.. best race, fav circuit... most respected rival... any funny story? who do want to thank...why TT? Any ambition... proudest moment... job/profession.. think that was it.

They are best done with the person, because then you can probe a bit... "ok, you want to thank Joe Bloggs... why is that... who else...etc etc.."... I suppose I'm just nosy, but when I did pre-race reports for the papers I always had loads of information and people would say..oh, I never knew that about him...

I'll have another look... got some filled-in ones too.
Happiness is three-wheeled.
