Just a quickie... when you are filling in the vehicles you are bringing... both for ferry booking purposes, and for the space booking in the paddock...PLEASE BE 100% accurate... if not you may find you can't bring something (not a square inch of spare space on the boat)... or likewise, have to leave something out of the paddock... same reason. :o

I think you will find you cannot take vehicles in and out of the paddock, so.. make sure you have worked out how you are getting about if you only have the van you are using to work in. A bike... pedal or motor, or a wee car, which can be left nearby, is ideal.

ALSO... think about security... lots of things like mountain bikes, tools etc were nicked last year... when you dash up to scrutineers... lock everything away, out of sight.. or leave the rottweiler or the children to frighten the potential opportunist thief.. on second thoughts... don't leave the rotty... they'll nick it  .
Happiness is three-wheeled.

From the regs, it looks like you're right, Helen in terms of not moving vehicles within the paddock (with the exception of scooters). Cars are not going to be permitted in the paddocks, and there is going to be a separate carpark, according to the regs -
The entire Paddock area is a closed road and access will only be granted by displaying an official event permit.
IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR 2013 – Cars will not be permitted in any part of the TT paddock in 2013. All cars will be required to park in the official event car park situated in Nobles Park.
In terms of security, too, if it's not bolted down, then lock it up ! The number of tools, spare wheels, pushbikes, ipods, cameras, even odd cans of beer I see lying about invited to be stolen in the paddock (not just at the TT) is unbelievable. Every year, there is always an element who feel it is acceptable to come in and take what is not theirs - don't make their lives easier than it already is.

In my opinion, if the person has a "Blue Badge" or equivalent permit, then surely the security should use their discretion and allow these people to move their vehicles at walking pace within the paddock if they want to go out. For example, in York, we have a large pedestrianised area, but registered disabled people can enter them by permit, whereas other traffic cannot. To avoid abuse of such a system (i.e. "borrowing" Blue Badges), a quick check of the photograph on the rear can be made by paddock security on the way in and out.

Have those who are commenting on this point actually read what is said in the regulations regarding vehicles in the paddock?

The major change year on year is as follows –

Cars will not be permitted in any part of the TT paddock in 2013. All cars will be required to park in the official event car park situated in Nobles Park. For mark_d’s benefit, that includes any car belonging to John McGuinness.

This change has been introduced for the benefit of all users of the paddock, in an effort to ease some of the congestion that is building up. It is part of several initiatives that we are following through, which have previously been detailed to the competitors via e-mail, earlier last year.

This change does not include vans and other support vehicles.

We will work with anyone with a disability, as we always have done to make sure their needs are met.

The Paddock Manager will be Lloyd Mister, and he can be contacted to discuss all issues of this nature. His contact details are also listed in the regulations but for convenience, are copied below.
