Planning on travelling to the Island?

Unread post by steve-e »

I'm going to offer a little piece of advice as a frequent flyer :D

I think I've done about 10 trips since the TT, Jo will probably be able to put a figure on it exactly but it must be around that and all by plane. Easyjet have just started running a service from Gatwick, goes out half past two on a Friday and there is also a return about half four-ish on Sunday.
I've done it a couple of times now and both times it's been under £90 return, just looking now for mid jan and it comes in at under £65, not far off the price you would pay from Liverpool with flymaybe (they've cancelled a flight of mine before now til next morning and nearly every one has had a delay or some problem).

If you're going across from this end of the country I'd recommend it, I go to Gatwick even though I live in Luton because they're more reliable than flymaybe.

Yep, 28th may to 5th june £78, (only 2 seats left on the outbound at £44 but same price day before with 3 left and the day after is now £63)

The prices will be a lot higher nearer the time but if you know now then book now.. and if you're doing a newcomers weekend which was more my reason for posting get it sorted before they go up :D

FlyMayBe? Bah, humbug  There reputation on the Southampton- Bergerac route is second to none, they have that many 'tech probs' that if there were any more then their actual flights would be none. Makes me wonder exactly how safe an airline thay must be, yes I know that they have had very few accidents - yet ...
It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!

I use Flybe a couple of times a year to Belfast from Birmingham. Never had a problem. As I only live five minutes from the airport I have just booked my wife and son on return flights Birmingham to Ronaldsway for the TT. Came in at £230 for the both of them. Pretty good I thought.

Or try manx2! £69 on 27th May and from £69 return on 7th June! At the moment! Prices rocket very soon! I use them every year and never have a problem. They fly from Oxford and Gloucester.

Yes I looked at that but by the time you add fuel, parking and more importantly ear ache. It wasn't worth it for me. :-)
