Newcomers weekend November 3/4

Unread post by Helen Gibson »

Got at least 10 newcomers coming .. any others like to join us?

Also which "improvers" or "recidivists" would like to come and learn or share knowledge?

I can only get travel costs for newcomers, but I can perhaps get discounts (boat only) and can help you find accommodation.

Lunch is provided by the Motorsport Development Team (always yummy, thank you!), and I need numbers for that.

The programme will be similar to past years:

Coffee and introductions in the Press Centre, then laps in the minibuses, one for drivers , one for passengers, followed by lunch and info from Scrutineers (oops Technical Officials), Marshal (slightly dented MGP rider and sometimes sidecar passenger), and a chance to ask a member of the TT Team any burning questions about the application process etc. Experienced TT drivers and passengers will be there to give guidance and accompany you on laps.

Then back out for more laps with mentors in the minibuses or other vehicles... a time for drivers and passengers to talk to each other (?!)

There will be DVDs, pace notes etc to take away with you.

On Saturday night we all meet up at the Manor pub, where there will be slideys on the big screen and all the local sidecar people will be invited along to join in... this is a great night out... don't miss it!

On Sunday, the minibuses will be available again and we usually meet up for a lunchbreak.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvements... let me know... this is YOUR weekend.

The next weekend is the last weekend in February, but, if neither of these dates suit you, please get in touch and I can arrange flights/ boat etc some other time, and make sure you get the same sort of input. If you decide to come across a few time to get the geography in your head (highly recommended) I can get you the best prices for boat crossing, and find you somewhere to stay.

If you have already told me you are coming, but have not had arrangements made, get back in touch. Likewise, if you need somewhere to stay, I am now looking at that... tell me what you need. :witch: :cat4

PS... If anyone would like to also see round the Southern100 course, please let me know. H :D

Wish I could make that, but the boat ride is a bit longer from America... :)
