Exellent Race
I like the bit at the 1st corner where a driver has to chase his bike while the passenger operates the controls

Good scrap. Was at a couple of rounds in NZ in 93. Fastest outfit then was a short wheelbase hub centre steered job with an Exup motor in, but it had high bars. I spoke to the bloke that built it. cant remember his name but he looked like Santa Claus. Years later got talking to Colin Buckley at the TT and he said he bought that bike. They liked to chuck them sideways into the corners as a lot of the drivers had come from speedway sidecars. There was a lot of inovation and home builds back then in NZ its hopefully still the same.

Excellent race
That low thing really did handle well, chair just up and powering out of lefts beautifully, could see him carrying so much more corner speed too.
Brilliant.

Brilliant.

His name was Mo Haley and that bike is still raced today, I did a season on it a few years back and it lives a few km down the roadalanw wrote:Good scrap. Was at a couple of rounds in NZ in 93. Not so much any more and the sport here has gone backwards quite a lot, in the last 2 years especially, this year we don't even have a National Championship due to a lack of entriesalanw wrote:There was a lot of inovation and home builds back then in NZ its hopefully still the same.

Re: NZ Sidecar GP 1987
Great to see some old friends! Lind & Hart were the team to beat in Canada and the US in 89 and 90 when I began my sidecar racing career. I remember the back end of their Windle TZ700 very well
Hart was injured in a crash at Shubenacadie Nova Scotia in 91 and I don't believe he passengered again. Lind continued to race with Steve Earnshaw in 92 on another Windle TZ700. I think he may have returned to NZ at some point. Hart recently died in a fatal car accident in California.
