We are all familiar with the the names of the TT legends like Dunlop, McGuinness, Haliwood etc but Id just thought Id like to mention two people who's names might not be that familiar, Robin and Annette Daykin.
They are a husband and wife who competed in this years TT in the sidecars.
They competed under the name "Team Past-it" , because Robin is 74 and Annette is in her sixties,
This was their first time competing in the TT.
They failed to qualify for the for the first race but upped their game and successfully qualified for the second race and finished it.
I applaud anyone who has the balls to even attempt the TT, no matter what age , and there are no exceptions made for the race , everyone is there on merit, so to complete 3 laps of the mountain course for about an hour at full pelt takes some skill and cahonas.
Aswell as their finishers medals they also got the Marshall's Newcomers Award and the award for the most meritous performance in the sidecar class regarding seniority
and one of the biggest cheers when they crossed the line !!
IMO its people like this who help make the TT what it is, and IMO they are most definitely amongst the TT Legends.
I hope ta **** Im getting as much out of life as they do when Im their age, life is for living as they say !!!!
Go on Team Past It
