Yes Merv, you are right, dark green imp outfit, not the prettiest but very quick. Last time i raced against him was at Croft in the 80`s, he had Audrey Illingworth in the chair, them were the days.

Re: Des Brocklehurst
I know it's a bit off topic found this old programme the other day was meaning to put it on. Then saw Audrey Illingworth mentioned not with Des at this meeting but passengering Paul Dutton. I'm there with my old driver Denis Waddington on a Barton Suzuki, seem to remember it was very fast but a little fragile. Did my first ever meeting at Croft three years earlier with Denis on a Triumph outfit. I loved the old Croft circuit. Railway straight and then that big left hander that was really something. As they say them were the good old days. The programme is dated 6th Oct 1979. Anyone remember any of the others.
We may be rubbish but we're having fun

Pete and Frank are from Chesterfieldgravelrashed wrote:He came from the same village as Pete and Frank Godfrey and Dennis and Julia Bingham
Dennis & Julie are from Tuxford
The Brindley massive were/are from Bawtry
Stewart Rich and JJ are from Retford
We slummed it out of Newark
I will think on about other locals, the memory is not brilliant at the moment.

I remember Paul, I did a guest meeting with him at Cadwell, early 80's. A Windle Imp I think, and tidy too, yes Audrey partnered him usually, but I was asked to help out on one occasion, loved it too.Team Looby Loo wrote:I know it's a bit off topic found this old programme the other day was meaning to put it on. Yes looby loo that programme is in my collection, i am passenger to Rod Bellas. There are some great riders in that list, Roly Reay, Ricky Linguard, Richard Crossley and of course the legendary Tony Baker, lots of good club racers of the day. And look at that, only one TZ, we were as jealous as hell when Mick Kaye replaced his old Honda four with that !The old Croft circuit was a real challenge to get round quick.

I know him, he's my uncle & lives in Ossett west Yorkshire. He & Audrey are no longer married but she lives there too. Paul Dutton was my step father at that time...... I have great memories of those times, it was a great childhood.
