1st class workmanship John, Dieter would be proud to have done that, is the large fabrication the steering head or the sidecar upright ?
By the way, JWR were very impressed with your TTI hydraulic clutch conversion.
When are you going to build a two stroke outfit , do not leave it to long, you are not getting any younger

Howard, It is the steering head, i would build a stroker but i don't have a g/box or an engine. I would like to build something with 2 Ariel Arrow units and thank you for your comments also thanks to JWR.

Kieran, It is welded to the back of the steering head box then welded to the to the top tubes and down tubes.There are no tubes in the steering head box.

Really nice machining / fabrication - I had to think about that separate steering head fabrication for a while - but I'm guessing it's so you can machine for the head bearings and avoid the distortion - clever way of getting around that problem...also guessing the steel plate is quite thick from the headstock back to the "square shape tube construction"...is the "steering head box" a one-piece welded up where it joins ?
If you really wanted to - I'd lend you enough TZ stuff to build a stroker - but I'm guessing Howard's thinking more along the lines of a konig....

Gordon, The steering head box is made with 2 mirror image pieces which are 2mm thick the next would be 1.5mm. Thank you for your offer of the TZ parts, all of the bikes i build are classic class machines hence my previous post about the possibility of building a 2 ariel arrow engined bike. Or maybe a Crescent. Other possibilities would be a V.W. Fiat Abath,or an Alfasaud.

Do you ever get to bed John ?.......I have so much to thank you for.....you looked after my two Busch outfits for many years and later my two MRE's
and various solos. At the same time you have built several of your own outfits and mended many many more.

I think I will make a decision about exactly what power unit for the next one when this one is finished. All of my projects take a long time due to age,health and financial implications

Good strong engines which can be made to give good power and torque, I did some work on one in the 60's and discounted them as I felt they would be too big and ungainly to build a neat light bike around.
