I'm not sure about the buy it for 10k rule. In some respects I agree, it would stop people building a 15k bike, but if I had for example a 10k bike and someone insisted on buying it, I think I'd not be happy if I didn't want to sell it at that time. Does that make sense? If I had a 5k bike and someone insisted on paying me 10k for it, I'd deliver it for them.

I could be totally wrong but as has been said before who is going to spend 20k just to win a 2nd league championship which is what we are talking about. Its jumpers for goal posts not Wembley.

Merv, you are right but there is no such thing as free entries I'm afraid. There might be entries paid for by someone else, or part paid for as in bemsee but I for one am struggling to pay my own entries, let alone others. If anyone knows of anyone who would help towards the costs then it would be good to have a chat about it.

I, from my rain light business would be happy to fund a trophy if it were to help. I wouldn't want it to be in my name though. I'm not worthy of that although I do have someone in mind. TBA. .

The £10K value was a suggestion, quite a clever control thing, the figure, within reason, is adaptable.
My free entries comment was once more my own brand of sarcasm borrowed from another thread that I have violated.

I find Johns idea quite interesting,and am watching to see how it turns out.I may consider racing in this class,if I feel it may be fun for our team,however,if the £10.000 rule was in,then theres no way wed be turning up.

No I do not think Greg would take either of his existing bikes out, but I am convinced if this class was supported well enough to warrant it's own races he would buy something else that would suit the purpose.

Let's face it, Post Classic and F350 events have become a joke, Ed Breakwell and Ian were recently first and last finishers in the Post Classics!

Would you not consider bringing your Norton out?

No,the Norton is for the Vmcc class I used to race in only,too busy with the Kettle at the moment anyway.
The only reason I race in the post classic,is to race a TZ750,I have no interest in racing anything else,other than 750 twins,or possibly a Konig.
So,I would not buy a bike for this new class.
When the TZ is gone,Ill pack in with the Post Classics altogether,as the lack of organisation at race meetings is stopping people from putting bikes on the grid,but of course the FSRA couldnt give a damn,all they want is 600 fourstroke fours(boring).
Alliekat,people race these in the Post Classic,GSX1100s,Z1000s and FJ 1200s.

Tony, why wouldn't you want to race your tz or kettle in this? It's no different to taking it to croft to enter a club mtg.

John,Id be very interested,in this,as I said previously,BUT as ALL Tz750s are now worth over 10K,if there was a rule like Merv suggested,then there is no way anyone with a big TZ would turn up.Bear in mind also,that the asking price for most classics is now around the 10k mark.
The idea you have is sound John,keep it simple,2 rules,tubes and carb.Its easier to understand and to police.

All this talk and all these different engine/ chassis combinations could make this a very spectacular class.
Whilst I agree in principle about setting a maximum price for an outfit - how can you put a price on sentiment?
Our BSA outfit carted our kids around when they were little, took me to work for many years, took the family to watch the TT. Yes market value is under £10k but it 'isn't for sale.
But as was also pointed out, who in their right mind would chuck more than 10 grand at a series like this?
I would love the chance to get on track with some later outfits, kneelers, big wheelers, even scooter sidecars. Competitive, probably not even slightly but would be great fun.
