Suzuki K9 what do I need to make it go?

Unread post by Metalface. »

I'm swopping from Thundercat to Suzuki and have got myself a K9 engine and throttle bodies. I've looked on Ebay and most of the looms and ECU's come with the lockset, I presume its because of the imobiliser, is their a way round this as I don't want to buy an ignition and fuel tank cap if I can help it.

Thanks. :)

Get in touch with Tony Baker. He will be able to provide you with a cut down sump, new oil pick up and some sump baffles.

How do you get round the original point of the immobiliser? Probably best if it's by PM lol..

There are certain ecu numbers that will run think they end in 00 instead of 01 on the number but the others wont . These can be wired to work. Speak to mal curnin he may have an ecu that will be able to be made to work . Then if you want it wiring speak to pete alton at otc dyno as it needs some resistors etc to make it work .

The wiring is the bit I need to know about, I've got most of the rest sorted and I've spoken to Tony Baker already.

I'll ring Pete Alton in the morning, thanks. :notworthy:

Make sure the weight bias is a little more to the rear. Colin got it wrong but being Colin would never change things. He did with the very last one for Howard Langham. I was behind you at Tonfanau when you lost it on the warm up lap. I did the same thing in practice 93 at Hillberry. The alternative is to get your passenger to overwork the back. Im sure Joe will sort it , good luck.

Thanks.

I didn't get my 12 year old sidecar tyre warm enough. [brick.gif] Joe told me off for that.

Can I just add how cool it is in sidecars that Geoff Bell is giving help and advice to a new racer. This sport is an awesome thing :D
