Simon Gilbert reckons you don't need a dog passport. Bob has posted a link

Dave has taken his dog three times in the last two years (one TT and two Southern's). No documents required as far as I know (I've done the bookings online and no disclaimers / information / warnings came up when I booked a dog on). We did however have to pay £10 each way on the journies in 2012 on the Steam Packet for use of the "Dog Lounge", but I believe dogs are not charged if they stay in the vehicle on the car deck.

As far as I can ascertain, there are no restrictions or passport requirements to bring a dog from the UK to the Isle of Man but I believe dogs cannot be taken from the mainland to the Calf of Man. Travel from the mainland to the Calf is from Port Erin, by boat. The Isle of Man IS the mainland. We are not part of the UK, if we were there would be a three legs right in the middle of your Union Flag. I just thought I'd clear that up.

My dad has already cleared this up but I do need to post also. The Isle of Man does NOT have a mainland. Thank you. Enjoy your adjacent island.

That's in the same vein as IoW residents refer to the the North Island ...

Helen - I was just saying that island folk have a slightly different view of the world to the rest ;-)

Bruce is right though, we're not part of the UK but are part of the British Isles. And only some of us speak foreign. Ethnic minority in our own country. You'll soon know what that feels like!
