Chain about to chop off my tackle

Unread post by chazmonkey »

Ive got an F2 LCR and stuck a 15t front sprocket on instead of the 14 i normally have on and i noticed that im about 3mm away from losing my meat and veg!!

Has anyone else had a problem with chains cutting through the seat unit and if so what did you do to sort it? I cant raise the height of the fairing so the only thing i can think of doing is cutting out the base of the seat unit and lifting it up a couple of inches.

Nev Jones had same problem with his LCR, latest engines have a high engine sprocket. We'll all be on sitters at this rate.

I had a similar problem then my mate gave me a bit of self lubricating nylon. (Dont know its proper name)well I fitted it to the underside of the seat unit and waited for the chain to cut its own groove. As he said it would. When it gets to the rollers it'll stop wearing as the rollers glide over the nylon.
To my suprise it blinking worked,I hate it when he's right
We broke something, I think it was traction….........

I would be very surprised if Debbie was worried about losing her meat and veg. She doesn't look that type of girl to me. :?

Seriously though, I have tonnes of 6mm thick Oilon plate. Oilon is an oil impregnated nylon, the stuff I have is yellow in colour and if anyone wants some you can have as much as you want for the princely sum of 1 pint. It is also ideal for nailing to the top of the swinging arm to stop the chain marks.
Please form an orderly queue.
I took the shell off my racing snail thinking it would make him faster.
It just made him more sluggish.

Has anyone noticed any handling issues related to high front sprockets?
If it is above the swinging arm pivot then opening & closing the throttle must surely load & unload the rear suspension.
