Bath sidecar passenger Kenny Cole teamed up with Broughton Gifford's Andy King to claim two Bronze Replica trophies at the Isle of Man TT.
The sidecars had little track time during practice week due to poor weather conditions, then King and Cole suffered another setback when they blew an engine up during an evening session.
After fitting a new engine thanks to extra backing from Natures Flame/Hoft Racing, the duo were in confident mood on their 600cc Honda- powered Ireson in the Sure Sidecar category.
In their first three-lap race they crossed the line in 18th in 1hr 4mins 25.49secs after a three-way battle with Francois Leblond and Cyril Roussel, and Gordon Shand with Phil Hyde.
They clocked a race speed of 105.41mph – their best to date – and recorded a fastest lap of just over 106mph, which was rewarded with a Bronze Replica trophy.
The pair then earned another award in their section's second race, although the 21st-placed finish was not quite as impressive as their first run.
