Has someone hit the panic button a bit early? It has stopped raining now and says it's going to brighten up.1st race wasn't until 1-15pm.It will be nice for anyone who didn't get a race in yesterday sat at home thinking about maybe having to book a ferry now to get a signiture.

Has anyone heard the reason for cancelling, like the track was flooded or something or was it that they just jumped the gun with the forecast.Surely if it was just the forecast they could have run even a couple of races for the likes of you who need the signitures.It would be a lot cheaper than having to go over.

Apparently there was a lot of standing water, plus the wind was quite bad so they were the main reasons.

To be fair, it does suffer from standing water. And having arrived home this evening from sunny Brands I feel for poor marshals if they'd had to stand out in this wind today!

Had the meeting gone ahead yesterday the officials would have been criticised had there been a serious incident and a machine was damaged, requiring considerable work on it so close to the TT. I can hear it now "Ridiculous holding a race meeting in this." I was at Jurby yesterday morning from about 0810 until about 0850 and I don't think the standing water would have cleared, even though it was blowing a hooli, I had a job opening my van door to get out, it was so strong, and I'm not a small person. It's a difficult call for the officials either way. You can please some of the people some of the time etc.

BTW, when standing on the Calf of Man, the Isle of Man is the mainland, it's the same when standing on the Isle of Man, the mainland. The UK is the adjacent isle to the Isle of Man.
