Fuel in the Paddock

Unread post by Simon Smith »

Excuse me if I'm being a bit thick but the regs say no more than 10l of fuel in the paddock.

With a 37l tank, how does that work?

Simon, it's obvious, keep it down on the beach with your welding set.
I took the shell off my racing snail thinking it would make him faster.
It just made him more sluggish.

There's a big underground tank in the paddock, that will only have 10 ltrs in. Perhaps everyone else can put their's in it.There's even a pump on it to get it back out with.Surely they won't charge much to pump it back out for you.Better check with Fire Brigade first though.

Apparently race day they have arranged for everybody to stop at Ramsey and St.Ninians for fuel on each lap.they were going to have pit stops but you can't carry jugs of fuel through the pits. They are still talking with Total about whether it's cash or on account, if they set up an account you will have to have proof of indentity and be over 18.Also you will not get any air miles points or what ever they are giving away now.Can imagine it will be very orderly and no queue jumping. It will be ok till someone wants some fags and a pasty as well!

Tim, you are just being silly now.
There is no need to stop twice on each lap, once will be plenty. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Total have now said although the sale of fuel is not resticted to racers, you will not be able to fill up from the forecourt as the bikes will be very hot and constitute a fire hazzard. They are asking teams to bring there own fuel cans. Also a footnote a special place has been set aside near the welding area to fill your bike. :D here to help.
We broke something, I think it was traction….........

I now understand,
Only one stop needed for petrol but at least two stops needed for pies. :D :D :D
