Welding
The use of welding equipment within the paddock area is strictly forbidden. Under no circumstance should teams or competitors bring welding equipment
in to the paddock or associated areas. Any equipment found may be confiscated.

That's been in the regs for at least the last two years, have I seen any welding equipment in use in the paddock in that time ? Well, I couldn't possibly comment !
It's amazing how far you can get with your eyes closed isn't it Tim . Brazing is ok then is it, it isn't welding? . Maybe the ones I didn't see were soldering their chassis, yes that must be it.....soldering

I am sorry to pour cold water on the conspiracy theories but this has nothing to do with the ACU.
This entry in the regulations comes via the IOM Fire Service. They have the power and authority to do anything they see fit in the name of fire safety in our paddocks, as the area is covered by a license that includes a number of conditions which they issue.
Ah. Well I won't be saying a bad word about the fire service on the island.
