Re: Adam Nix
Hi Steve,
I spoke to a good mate of Adam's last night ... he just been to see him at the the hospital. He'd given his elbow a bashing and of course was generally bumped and bruised but apart from that pretty good. He was knocked out on impact but Skel (Jon Skelson of Darley fame) said that was because his lid really wasn't up to the job. They were going to keep him in last night and hopefully discharge him today.
Skel was just waiting for the "bike" to come back to the paddock to see what he had to put together another bike for Adam later in the week ... so all looks to be not so bad

If he was knocked out, he won't be racing later in the week. Glad he's ok (ish)

Why wasn't it up to the jobHe was knocked out on impact but Skel (Jon Skelson of Darley fame) said that was because his lid really wasn't up to the job.

Re: Adam Nix
Why would Adam need a crash helmet at all?
He's passengered for Alun so his head is obviously hard enough.

I took the shell off my racing snail thinking it would make him faster.
It just made him more sluggish.

Re: Adam Nix
Sorry guys I didn't think about my words being taken literally (my fault for not thinking) ... it was just picking words out from my conversation with a rider that wears nothing else but Arai, the helmet Adam crashed in was not Arai and therefore in the opinion of Skel "not up to the job" ... not actually "not up to the job" i.e. too old, damaged etc and yes it did pass scrutineering because had no reason not to....
Apologies for my poor english

Saw him around yesterday, and apart from a dressing on his arm he looks fine.

Re: Adam Nix
Hi all,
This electronic instant news lark is hard work- my aunts in Canada were following the commentary online, heard the announcement, phoned my sister (who had forgotten I was even thinking about the Manx) so full flap mode ensued
Anyway, I'm absolutely fine, thanks for all your thoughts and big thanks to the fairies (who I chatted up last week before practise started) as well as to the marshals & medics who scooped me up. Oh yes, and ta to the rest of the field for not running over me & not taking the mick too much.
Tracey (the steelie in question) is also fine though the shiny new paint job is a tad scuffed. Usual stuff- brake lever, brake pedal, all in the bits box but (as Helen pointed out) knocked out=not racing. Boo.
Helicopters are cool though- I woke up for that bit!
See you all out there somewhere.....

Glad to hear you sounding OK Adam, we were hoping to see you race while we were over at the weekend (we're friends of Nogger & Mike Newton). Hope you're back out riding soon.
