Ken posted on facebook "Saturday practice, didn't even make it to the crosby pub, 5 miles and blew it up that's about £400 a mile. Bollocks" and in reply to a "what caused it?" said "haven't looked at it yet, not happy campers." No update posted today.

Saturday it would appear that the big end bolts sheared at Crosby just before the pub, no warning, going like fuck and just exploded. Last night we nearly got to the end of Sulby straight, things got very hot and again exploded. Different reasons but same result. Another new engine being fitted for tonight, hopefully we have sorted the problems but this is the last engine we have. Expect to see us going pretty carefully and pulling over if there are any worries. We haven't done a lap yet and have both reached for the fags even though we don't smoke.

Engine oil temperature was reading high so we stopped at Ballacraine as a precaution, no damage done to engine so we should be alright to go again tonight. Let it cool down then came back on public roads, got some strange looks :D

You know what they say, bad practice, good race!

Is that the same for qualifying though...!! :)
