To begin with I would like to wish you a Happy New Year, and hope that it brings you all a safe and successful racing season.

ENTRIES ARE OPEN!
Entries for the 2012 Isle of Man TT Races Fuelled by Monster Energy open at 0900hrs on Monday the 9th of January. The entry process will for 2012 be administered through a new, fully automated, on line race management system. You can find it by clicking on iomtt.com, the official Isle of Man TT Web Site, and following the following path –

iomtt.com > TT 2012 > Competitors

This new system is simple to use and includes several features designed to enhance your interaction with the event, including a riders portal giving you access to a whole host of previous data from your efforts around the TT Mountain Circuit as well as being able to share your performances live, in real time using Facebook and other social network mediums. The system will be the single point for all teams and competitors to enter themselves, register their machines, provide details of their sponsors, paddock requirements, license details, bank details and ferry crossings.

You will need to register with the system at the link above, at which point you will receive an e-mail with your username and password details to access the system and being your entry application. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND PRIZE MONEY
Whilst no concessions for competitors are currently available directly from any travel companies accessing the Isle of Man, the Department of Economic Development will offer a travelling allowance to assist all competitors travelling to the Island. This allowance is tiered depending on the residence of each solo rider and sidecar driver and number of events contested. The allowance will be paid in GBP and will only be available by electronic payment direct to a bank account of the competitors choosing. All competitors qualifying for an allowance must include their bank details on the entry form and no payments will be issued using any other means. Further details can be found in the 2012 TT Regulations.

Any competitor wishing to apply for additional appearance fees should do so via the on line entries facility, providing information and justification to support the application. Requests must be made no later than the 29th of February 2012. Applications received after this date may not be considered. Financial support for riders and teams will be negotiated directly between the Department and authorised representatives of the individual riders and teams. The following items will provide the basis for the payment criteria –

• Potential media coverage value (team and/or rider) achievable before, during and after event
• Demonstrable ability to promote the TT and Isle of Man positively (team and/or rider)
• Previous performance at TT (team and/or rider)
• Previous recent performance at other high profile motorcycle international and domestic racing events (e.g. World Superbike Championship, British Superbike Championship, World Endurance Championship etc)
• Size and scale of team (infrastructure etc) and presentation

The above list is neither exhaustive nor absolutely definable and should only be used as a guide. Any competitor receiving additional appearance support or riding for a team which is receiving additional appearance support does not qualify for the travel allowance payments.
