If a sidecar were to be on a fast lap in the other direction, how much different would it be laptime wise? Where would the corners be very different? I think with an outfit the difference between the lefts and rights might be more pronounced?
I didn't want to take their thread off topic and maybe a few on there wouldn't really be able to answer as well as our sidecar experts on here. Genuinely an interesting question as it's not so much a purpose built circuit, where corners are designed by man, surely these are more designed like real roads i.e. "animals going to market" as the old story goes?

Re: Pinched from iomtt forum, the circuit the other way?
I always liked the idea of the Hutchinson 100 run at Brands Hatch, where the circuit was raced in the opposite direction ,usually at the end of the racing season and I guess just for a bit of fun. Unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure of attending one of these meetings before they were stopped due to ACU rulings /circuit safety etc etc.
If they were ever to run the mountain course in the opposite direction my guess is the lap time would improve on what we have now mainly down to the amount of climbing you don't realise goes on each and every lap when run in a clockwise direction.
I only came to this conclusion after jumping on the top deck of a TT Special bus back to Douglas from Ramsay a couple of years ago,,,( In fact it was the first time I had ever traveled round the course in the opposite direction on public transport )

It was great to do Mallory when they run it the wrong way round a decade or so ago
Twas without the bus stop so fast right into a left hand hairpin
Gerrards was down to who had the biggest Gnads
As for the TT round the wrong way....
You'd wanna be hanging onto the sidecar wheelnuts to get round goveners dip, up to the Nook ~ it'd be like Scarborough.
Brandish....? Didn't do the newest version so not sure how it'd be as a right hander?
Down to the Bungalow would be interesting and if you think stopping for Ramsey Hairpin is challenging, how about trying it going down hill!
Quarry Bends would be just as good
Ballaspur to Greeba Bridge would be lifting.....although perhaps not as much as a left hand Windy Corner
Union Mills would be just as cool
Which is the biggest challenge.....climbing the mountain or Bray Hill.....
I'd go and watch

No trying to be clever Fritz, but if you do a full circuit of ANY track, you do the same amount of climbing as you do descending, 'cos you end-up in the same place!!!!!!!!!!!!Fritz wrote:.............................................

More gradual ascent to get to the “same place” perhaps Nick ?
