Rolf Steinhausen TT start numbers
I have just bought a painting of Rolf Steinhausen and ( I think) Sep Huber at the TT, the bike appears to be a Busch Konig and carries number 5, I have tried the TT website but can't find a link to the start numbers to establish the year, can anyone help?.

John Newton, Toby or Ronno will probably be able to help when they come on next. John's probably working on his race report from Cadwell at the moment and Ronno's been on funny shifts again I believe but they should be along soon.

Didn't go in 1975 but they were no 4 in 1974 and no.1 in 1976 so that fits. report to be started soon, Steve!

Judging from the gradient, it's the bottom of Bray Hill?

He might look big Andy but they were world champions and TT winners at the same time. Cant do better than that.

Re: Rolf Steinhausen TT start numbers
Rolf was No1 for Mondays 500 race with on a Busch Konig and No5 with a 750 for the Wednesday 1000cc race in 1976. my race guides don't go any earlier than '76.

Hi all,
thanks for the replies, I get the painting back on Saturday from reframing, I'll post a pic of it and see what you think, it may well be, there has been a large dose of artistic licence.
I know from the info I have managed to find, he ran 4 in 75 and 3 in 77.

Hi all,
I can't upload the pic, 1st it says the pic is too big, so I cut it down a bit, then it says the file is too big, so I gave up, I guess I will just have to love it for what it is, true or not.

Re: Rolf Steinhausen TT start numbers
Hi Keith.
No artistic licence here. I've a copy of the original photo taken from one of the monthly bike mags and the detail in the painting is spot on. Can't upload the pic. Scanner on the blink but can get you a copy if you wish. Cheers, Mick

Hi Mick,
from what I can deduce, it is the 75 TT on the 750 Konig and as you say, the detail is spot on.
Cheers Keith
