The yams are still eligible in the crmc, or are you talking about in scotland? You would want a 750 or bigger depending what championship you want to be in. The last xs was raced with the crmc was by jim franklin but that was sold abroad a couple of years ago now.

Thanks for that. I was thinking of something about the 800cc to 1000cc and have been looking at the results and noticed that it all seems to be BMW and imps and maybe wondered that the Yamaha's had been banned.

I think they're just not as quick as the latest breed of 'classic' roadsized BMW's compared to what was raced at the time and rallycross IMP engined and so people aren't racing them. It's more silhouette than classic now in MY HUMBLE UNINFORMED opinion.
It's the new F2..as F2 should be.

Bob.. get my coat I'm off ;)

George & Andy Calver rode one in Forgotten Era in the 90's & it was rapid, not sure of the size.
That engine would certainly give the BM's a run for their money.
What a pair George & Andy were, one week George would ride the bike & Andy would passenger then the next week Andy would ride the bike & George would passenger. :D
Stu Mellor of Martech also had a quick one so did Andy & jake Beckworth.

If you run it over 750cc you will bein P3 up aginst unlimited Imps, BMW's etc etc. Run it at 750 then you can run P2 on little wheels or P1 with big wheels.

stu mellors xs yam was eventually out to 950,albert price still runs an xs yam engine in a classic and says the 750 is the best one, races mainly in the pre tt classic on the billown circuit and scarborough.you need to alter thre primary drive ratio on them but dont know were you would get one now.
why when you are going fast does it seem slow!.

My dad used to race a 960 yam, but that was starting to getting unreliable, for 750 engines there is loads of tuning stuff you can buy off the shelf from America as they flat track them. I think the engine would definately challenge both p1 and the p2 class with the right driver.

Looks like the 750cc on 10inch wheels seems to be the best option. How many outfits are running in this class.

There's only about 2 or 3 outfits in this class i think, but another outfit is a start, i think the aim should be to really try and promote this class and give it its own race once the numbers permit.
