Our bike in 1971

Pics above show our bike in 1971 as built by Colin Rides. It is believed to have been the third bike he built all being different. It had a 16" front wheel and was powered by a Triumph 650twin. The changes to 10" front wheel and Triumph Trident power were done in the early 1980's (?) by Nick Bates.

It most certainly is. Do you know any of its history?

Not the outfit, although I used to watch Colin at Oulton, I'd take the old BSA's and Nortons for an MOT, Have a chat, he'd come out blow the bikes horn, give me the MOT and tell me to bugger off.He used to have the outfit in the shop at one time.
I may still have some photos of Oulton in the sixties, that's when the great passion started, although a 16h and double adult never handled that good, I'll try to dig them out.
I will be going up to Runcorn/Widnes this week end the brother in law was always in and out of his shop I'll see if he knows anything.

Colin Rides is alive and kicking to answer your questions if he can remember.I have sent you a PM when it decides to transfare. He still works in his shop at Widnes but only a couple of afternoons a week.
Did you know were the other bikes went too?

PM's are slightly different to Email. They sit in your outbox til they are opened the other end, this way you know whether the intended recipient has opened them yet without needing a 'read receipt'. 8-)
IF YOU'VE FORGOTTEN YOUR LOGIN EMAIL ME, WE ARE GOING BACK TO BEING LOGGED IN TO READ.

Thanks, got it. Will try and call him in the next few weeks. Outfit is still in bits at the moment waiting for some parts. Still hoping to be practicing next week at Mallory though
