question for anyone who uses big windle brake disks
i have bellas chassis with windle running gear ( same as baker if ya dont know lol)
and am using the big 320mm windle disks on the front with r1 calipers and aluminium carriers
does anybody who has this set up or had it ever have problems with the right caliper catching the road when going round lefts?
would it make any difference to braking if i where to get some longer bars for the top of the aluminium carriers so that it would push the calipers back and up just below the folk leg so they were futher from the road??
cheers

we found if we set them back as far as the total adjustment on the rods the end of the caliper is closer to the ground lol it's the way the r1 calipers are shaped

Re: question for anyone who uses big windle brake disks
simon neary uses the same calipers as me and tony baker...we both use the bidder discs too and haven't had any issues(but ours are all bakers outfits????) the calipers we use are crb600/blade 900/1000(not the radial mouted ones...but i do know that pete oulton has them on his baker and has no issues neither)....i do have some as new radial calipers(off a late 2007 cbr) for sale if of any use(they have been checked, stripped and cleaned too)

Re: question for anyone who uses big windle brake disks
yes if it was designed for the use it was mounted for ,but these calipers are from road bikes and are not normally mounted this way.....

Re: question for anyone who uses big windle brake disks
The problem is caused by the shape of the R1 calipers and the way the Windle mounting plates are shaped.
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?
