The much anticipated second round of the Marin Cup took place at a very busy weekend of racing at East Fortune 15th/16th July.
This was a record overall entry at the circuit but, more importantly, teams from all around the country responded to the promise of good racing delivered by this competition, resulting in an incredible turnout of sidecars. A full grid of 24 entries was received for the first time in many years. And, although the usual round of mechanical misadventures and racing incidents brought a certain rate of attrition, the overall entry made sure of big grids and fierce competition in every race.

The ultra-fast Thruxton circuit is always a great leveller, and particularly hard on passengers with its never-ending right handed bends. Three races on the programme would put seventy-five points on the table, but as events turned out, things did not go to plan.
