T.L. - I know this may seem a bit "premature" given the race report from Anglesey has yet to be published. However, with tight programme deadlines to work to, Mark had to write a piece prior to round four, due to there being "back to back" championship events on consecutive weekends.

Welcome to the preview for the fifth round of the A.C.U./F.S.R.A. Formula 2 British Sidecar Championship in conjunction with our series sponsors for this year: ARC Newton Aycliffe, Lockside Engineering, Yorkshire Engine Supplies, Whitby Cottages, Pagid Racing and from the Isle of Man A.V. Craine and Sons. From all the registered competing teams and members of the F.S.R.A. a big thank you for your continuing support.

Twelve teams have entered this weekend’s fourth round of the Lane Building Services F.S.R.A. Championship with the Wirral 100 club at Anglesey. A wide variety of outfits including F350’s; Post Classics dated pre-1984; and more recent Pre-injection engines in short and long wheel based chassis are entered to contest four races over the weekend on the 1.55 mile Coastal circuit.

The fourth round of the A.C.U./F.S.R.A. British Formula Two Sidecar Championship will be hosted once again by the Wirral 100 club at the coastal circuit Trac Mon on Anglesey. This will be the tenth consecutive year that the FSRA have visited this venue. In the last two years the weather has played a major factor with one day being blisteringly hot and the next day torrential rain so let's hope the “weather gods” play fairly this weekend!

The third round of the A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British Formula 2 Sidecar championship took place this past weekend at Donington Park, hosted by the North Gloucester Road Racing Club. With a changeable weather forecast everyone was hoping for a dry session and when qualifying took place half way through the day on Saturday the weather remained a little blustery, the track was dry and the overhead conditions cloudy.

It was a weekend of contrasting fortunes for Team A.R.C. at the third round of the A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship at Donington Park. While John and Jake Lowther had their most successful weekend to date; their team mates Lee Crawford and Patrick Farrance had a meeting which was largely disappointing.

The second round of the A.C.U./F.S.R.A. British Formula 2 sidecar championship took place this past weekend at Cadwell Park, hosted by the Auto 66 Club. With the forecast not looking great - in fact the polar opposite to the previous weekend at Oulton Park - the weather would indeed have an impact on race one.

A busy ten day period has seen Team A.R.C. competing in the first two rounds of the A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship, at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park respectively. Fielding Lee Crawford / Patrick Farrance on their LCR Suzuki, and John / Jake Lowther on their LCR Honda, there have been high and low points for both combinations.

With little time to draw breath from the season-opening event at Oulton Park last weekend, the ACU/FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship (incorporating the F2 Cup) heads to Cadwell Park on Easter Sunday and Monday for the second round of the series.

The first round of the ACU/FSRA British Formula 2 Sidecar Championship took place on the 7th/8th April at Oulton Park in Cheshire and was hosted by the North Gloucester Road Racing Club.

The 32nd ACU/FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship began back in April. 24 teams had registered, most were ready for the opening races at Oulton Park. Last year's top two, Alan Founds and John Holden had other targets for the season, so unsurprisingly the 'smart money' was on the other teams in last year's top six. It was Pete Founds, now with Jevan Walmsley in the chair, who took a double victory, with Ian and Carl Bell, along with Lee Crawford and Patrick Farrance each taking a second and a third placing. Steve and Mattie Ramsden scored two fourths, while Conrad Harrison and Lee Patterson, along with Dwight Beare and Ben Binns, each took a fifth and a sixth position. It was the Manx residents, Beare and Binns, who took the F2 Cup honours with two class wins and therefore a maximum 50 points.

The 2016 season came to an end with two races at Mallory Park hosted by EMRA in perfect dry and sunny racing conditions and being the last 2016 rounds of the EMRA, Derby Phoenix and the FSRA F350 Post Classic Preinjection championships. A total of sixteen outfits were entered with seven teams being part of our championship. The good weather had brought out good crowds and was well supported.

    Round 6 Mallory Park

Mallory Park this coming Sunday 11th is the final round of the 2016 FSRA F350 Post Classic Preinjection championship, with two championship races. This same meeting is also the final round of the EMRA and the Derby Phoenix sidecar championships, so a good sidecar grid is guaranteed.

This new FSRA Preinjection championship is made up of a variety engines and chassis types. Engines have varied from big and little two strokes to big and smaller air and water cooled four strokes in short and long chassis, with teams of all abilities from first year novices to British champions and TT winners entering.
