Call for Entries - British Sidecar Championship 2024

This season we will run at 4 of the BSB rounds and two events with Bemsee - The first round at Pembrey and the 6th Annual Sidecar Revival at Cadwell (sponsored again by Roger Body, Santander Salt)

If this series is of interest to you, or if you wish to consider selected rounds - here's all the info you need to get going.....

Completing your intentions against the list of rounds is what we use to compile the draft grids prior to each round.

We look forward to getting to race again - your admin starts here!.....

ADMIN:

1. The Series Entry Form & Medical Forms (attached)

Each Rider & Passenger needs to complete these. The form is an in-fillable pdf, so you should be able to fill this in on your screen, save it and email back to me. You can sign with a digital signature.

It’s your declared intentions on this for each round that generate the draft grids.

CLOSE FOR THIS IS 31st MARCH

2. Renew your Licences

We’ve removed the Registration Stage used in the past, just to simplify things – so the submission of your Entry Forms is your declaration of intent. Ensure you have the appropriate National Licence from your Federation with Insurance/Start Permission

3. Wristband access to circuits for 2024

Permanent passes will NOT be issued to teams this season, teams will be issued 6x one event wristband passes at each event at the BSB meetings and eTickets for the two Bemsee meetings.

4. Vehicle Passes

The attached Vehicle List is based on what I had in 2023. Please advise changes (let me know if it stays the same as well!). Please sort this stuff as you will end up waiting a while to get into circuits for the BSB rounds if you don't advise this info.

Max you are allowed:

1 x Working vehicle

1 x Driver living vehicle

1 x Passenger living vehicle

2 x Private Car passes (go to the Car park – not the paddock)

You can’t “transfer” an unused vehicle pass to another team.

One additional single event living vehicle pass (one per team, per event) can be purchased at a cost of £40 from MSVR – contact Lucy Hart on Lucy.Hart@msv.com

5. Control Fuel

The supplier this season is to be confirmed - I will issue Registration & Order forms as they become available. The control fuel will not be mandated for the two Bemsee rounds.

6. Series Technical & Supplementary Regulations

These are to follow for 2024.

There was a bulletin issued in December regarding allowable engines - this is attached again

Also MSVR's Rules for Teams & Riders - these also form part of the Regulations will follow as they become available from BSB

7. Team & Series Promotion

We need info from each Team for the Series Website. You can access a Google Form to do this here: https://forms.gle/nS2w6ZQAfnL7aGN6A

Useful to know and save somewhere:

BSB/MSVR info on the Series is on the support website at:

https://www.msvracing.com/bikes/calendar/2024/

This is where you will always find Final Instructions, Paddock Plans etc for each round - from the Monday before the meeting

BSB/MSVR documents that include general rules are here:

Here's to a great 2024!

As a follow-up to the earlier email we have been asked to indicate what entry fees will be at BSB rounds. Andy Peach is working hard to persuade sponsors to support the series round by round, and there is already one in place for the Knockhill meeting.

The grid fee charged by BSB would have any sponsorship money deducted and then the balance shared amongst the teams that enter that round.

On this basis we would expect that teams would pay a similar figure to what it was in 2023, At around £300 a round.

Work is ongoing to put sponsors in place so we will advise later how entry fees will be charged, and the exact amounts and we will try and get to a point where you can pay a single fee to cover the BSB rounds if you plan to support the entire championship.

Wild cards would be charged on a an individual round by round basis as before.

For the two Bemsee rounds you would enter those meetings direct at bemsee.net when they go live.

The first round at Pembrey will be £290 per team and the Sidecar Revival £310. You'll be able to use a debit or credit card to pay within the Bemsee website.

So please get your entry forms in as soon as you can so that we have a good idea of the number of teams we expect to see at each round.
