Birchalls retire from top level racing ?

Unread post by Eric & Julie »

I just read on a German site this-
Ben and Tom Birchall have retired from active sidecar racing. The 2019 World Cup third placed finishers and 2018 World Champions have sold their current material to Kees Endeveld. The Dutchman will drive with Hendrik Crome in the future.

OK I've just asked Ben and his response was simple.
"It's 100% wrong.
Please let everyone know.
Where the F$%k does this come from I wonder?

Thanks Steve"

I have nothing to do with this article. Just send out a press release. No mention that Ben and Tom are retiring from my side.

I heard, in France, something like that : "We sold everything and we stop racing !"

Coming from ?????

BUT,
Going through Val de Vienne on the way to Estoril at mid-October, they were the Stars of the final round of RSCM (Racing SideCar Mania), and they had been offered a spanish Jamon.
And they had been told they will have the second leg next year if they win the Superside.

So, instantly, they replied : "We'll win, we'll win !"

I finally found the website and the text written by Rudi Hagen (?) the 13rd of November.

The title is :

“Birchalls hören auf - Endeveld übernimmt LCR Yamaha”

That can be translated as :

“The Birchall stop - Endeveld takes the LCR Yamaha”

And nowhere, inside the text, there's any mention of any Birchall's decision to stop, to discontinue racing.

Hi Fanch,
https://www.speedweek.com/seitenwagen/n ... amaha.html
Here is the link to the article.
The author wrote clearly that the Birchall brothers retire from racing. First sentence in the text after the headline.
Regards Uwe
