600 sumps, dry cut down etc

Unread post by Kano Nordie »

Hi I’m here to pick your brains, which may cause some surprise as many “normal” people think chaps on outfits don’t have any! Anyway as President Trump might say I think you are very smart.
As I live in Africa, only coming back 6 weeks each year I don’t get much chance to see any racing and although our local TV covers MotoGP SBK and SA bike racing, never shows anything on 3 wheels apart from the highlights from the TT.
I see many are running 600 F2 outfits and would like information on sumps and lubrication, are you running dry sumps, cut down sumps with fingers crossed, swinging pickups, or cut down sumps with Accusumps, or what?
I run a single seat race car with an Ian Drowne dry sump on a ZX10r engine, and we have the same issues as outfits, lowering the engine as much as possible in the chassis and oil surge when cornering.
I know the older early 1990’s CBR600’s used to get away with cut down sumps, so what are your solutions on today’s 600 motors?
Cheers
John
