how did the new people do? More importantly, how did #63 Peter Essaff / Jeff Gillard do?

It was only a speed-controlled lap today, so not timed practice. I can't see them in any photos online yet, but equally there has been no adverse news

Don't know about them, I did hear Simon and Marc had their engine cut out on the line and didn't get to go out yet.

#63 Essaff/Gillard (they have it backwards) seemed to be doing well then dropped off at Cronk-ny-Mona at lap 2. That was at 4 PM when the course shut down. At that point, does the course show a yellow flag everyone slows down?

The finished eventually (70.48mph avg). Likely stopped and then continued. Could have been many reasons (mechanical, physical, sheep, grouse, sidecar in the way, etc.)
On live timing add them as a favorite then watch the map view and click on their number as it appears at each interval station.

Yup, that is how I was following them. They don't show up otherwise (at least for me).
Looked like they were throwing down some respectable times for their first timed laps. Yes?

They were looking pretty good until they slowed/stopped. At this point any finished lap is a GOOD lap. If they can gain 1-2mph per session and they get most of their sessions then they should qualify. Weather, serious incidents in earlier sessions or with the public and mechanical issues are their main foes from here on in. Fingers (and toes) crossed.
