Claire LadySidecar Duplock Update: She has suffered a broken wrist and femur. As far as I can gather the wrist is straight forward but the leg may require surgery later at the Northern General in Sheffield.
Claire has asked me to thank all the staff of Cadwell and BHR for the excellent help she received at the track and to pass on her love to all her well-wishers and friends.
I will be going up as soon as Claire will let me and I’ll keep you posted.

Claire LadySidecar Duplock

Update:
This morning just eight days after the crash Claire was on her feet and walking with a Zimmer frame, She says that it was very hard and knows that there is still a long way to go. She has asked me to tell all her well-wishers that she hopes to be able to thank them personally very soon!!
Beeing so fit before the crash has helped a great deal, this pic of her was taken only about a month ago.
Please share

Lady SideCar is Home

!!
I just got a call from Claire and she’s back at home in her own chair in sunny Lancaster.
She would like to thank all those involved in her recovery from the track and all the staff and doctors in Sheffield’s Northern General hospital.
I cant say how happy I am that Claire is progressing so fast on her way back to fitness and us in the paddock, well done kido

!!

Hello Everyone,
Heartfelt thanks from me for all the kind messages of love and encouragement that I have received, I have been taking great cheer from them over the past 3 weeks.
As Phil says, I'm home now, thank goodness, and embarking on the slow business of rehabilitation. I can't weight bear on my right leg for at least another 6 weeks, but I'm managing to walk with crutches (even though I've a cast on my right wrist) and have got up to about 600 yds 3 times per day so far. I hope to get my physio started next week, and as soon as the cast is off I will try to get into a pool and do some hydrotherapy. Both the docs and the physios are saying that there is no reason why, if everything goes well, I should not be back to running, dancing and passengering again within 12 months.
I would like to thank all the track-side staff at Cadwell who assisted after the accident and all the medical staff who took such good care of me, I apologise for my bad language. I would also like to extend my best wishes to Team Kershaw after their nasty spill at Knockhill, it makes me feel lucky to have escaped relatively lightly.
I'm finding using the keyboard and mouse quite difficult at the moment, so probably won't be posting much over the next few weeks, but thanks again for all the kind thoughts.
Claire.
