I think the Andy MacDonald listed is the ex-350 LC racer from Kent.
Tell him Dave & Bernadette were asking about his shiny pipes! He'll know what we mean.

It is Alex McDonald and Andy Gorst
I think the Andy you are thinking of lives up North and still races an LC
Two racing from your side of the world are Barry Smith and Pete Goodwin

You're in luck, 3rd weekend in February is the Paeroa street race
http://www.battleofthestreets.co.nz/
First two weeks of March is NZ Nationals racing at Hampton Downs and Taupo
Give me a yell if you're down as far as Christchurch
Practice, qualifying and one race today was total crap, not even getting within 4 seconds of my club day times and lap 7 Barry and Robbie rolled over and it was red flagged, both up and mobile but waiting to here re their injuries

Another eventful day
So far between three teams there's been about 6-7 engine changes and two of the top teams are both out of the championship after big crashes (everyone is sort of ok)
Between that and swingers getting fired down the road it's been an eventful two days with lots of beer owed and we still have another day to go
