No extra TT practice sessions will be held at this year's event despite the majority of people supporting the idea in a consultation.

Businesses and even schools were asked about the affect of further road closures during the Manx government consultation.

David Cretney MHK said it was "important to listen to residents' views as the TT relied on goodwill".

TT practice week will get under way on the 24 May with racing the next week.

Mr Cretney said: "It was really important that we listened to the opinions of residents, businesses and other relevant groups before we implemented any changes.

"We are conscious of the need to keep disruption to the public and business to a minimum," he added.

Organisers ACU Events Ltd had hoped the extra session could take place on either 29 or 30 May.

This year's practice sessions will follow the same format as 2013 with roads closing from 18:00 BST and opening no later than 21:30 BST from Saturday 24 to Friday 30 May.
