From SlowPhil, with Stan Dibben. Just fantastic stuff.
The Worlds Foremost SideCar Rider Stan ‘Laddie’ Dibben.

This week sees me in the presents of a truly great raconteur and house hold name, the only world champion in SideCar racing (so far at least) who has been brave enough to do this show. Stan recalls his eventful and truly remarkable life. If you have never met this man please listen in but be warned, you are going to want more.

We thankfully have another show coming soon with Stan with more that a few revelations about this champ!

My sincere thanks again to Stan for this.
The top one on the archive page, it's not on Phil's page yet as the latest show, but I have to share it now..

Listened to the Stan and Phil show on the way home tonight. Brilliant.

This week from SlowPhil, part one of Phil's visit to sidecar building legend Terry Windle
In Phil's words..
Terry Windle, the story of a true craftsman.

Having spent most of his working life, not in some ‘dark satanic mills’ but rather in the most beautiful South Yorkshire countryside, Terry talks to me in depth about his own racing and the high times he spent racing outfits on the mainland and on the Isle of Man.

Starting his business and building Club, British and world championship winning bikes and possibly forging the most famous and enduring name in SideCar racing ever: ‘Terry Windle’.

Next Show up on Thursday:

Team Founds Fund raiser:
An interview with Tom, Alan, Colin and Des :notworthy: .

Out on the Wirral peninsular I got to sit with one of the most wonderful families that I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. People often talk about ‘the SideCar family’ well now I know what that’s about. The level of support that family Founds are giving the latest generation of F2 challengers is just ….Huge!

I doubt that Des and Linda knew what they were getting into when Des started racing his road bike in 1969 but I do know that this long and tortuous road has brought some massive highs and is packed with the flavours that keep us all coming back for more. Des and his close friend and long time Team Founds member Colin Peters have made a mark in British motor sport and now that torch is passed on, in this latest family step, to their sons Tom (Peters) and Alan (Founds).

2014 will once again see Team Founds at the Isle Of Man TT races and to help support their efforts on the island and in the British F2 Championship they are holding an Auction of super exclusive motor sport items and memorabilia. This is of course a Social event with a disco and featuring some famous speakers. These people have captured my heart and I hope that you will all come and help make this already fabulous event even better. Tickets are just £5.

For many others and me this isn’t next door so I will be dragging the caravan up there and staying on the big car park at the club (don’t tell anyone).

Held on 08.03.2014 at:
The Corus Sports and Social Club
Rowleys Drive
Shotton
Deeside
Clwyd
CH5 1PU

Call the club: 01244 812345.
Or me SP on 07730784975.

This weeks Show (subject to plumbing)

Unread post by SlowPhil »

Multi TT and GP winner Mick Boddice :notworthy: pulls no punches!

Racing for the first time on his Dad’s Manx Norton, young Mick picked up £15 in prize money and later that same year won his first solo national race at Snet.

The list of this man’s achievements is long and truly impressive, ranging from winning Honda’s first SideCar TT, being the first rider to lap Castle Coomb and Thruxton at over the ton to having a hand in the career of some guy called Crutchlow (there’s lots more to come)!

The easy laugh was a pleasant surprise but Mick has had a serious life in motor racing. He’s a thinker and boy he really says what he thinks about SideCar racing, the ACU and the TT.

Available from Thursday with any luck

Show 30 From IOM

Great and wild weekend on the rock, interviews with Dr David, Shaun Hogg and Allan Warner.

Interesting that all the folk in this weeks show share certain feelings for politicians and the development of our sport in rules and in the lack of them.

I would like to dedicate this show to my special friends Marc, Kim and Charlie for their patients.

Available from Thursday

This weeks show from IOM featuring two true gents, boys that capture the spirit of that road race out at sea.

Veterans of the air ambulance both with reports of their death very much exaggerated! Nigel Smith :notworthy: , driver of both classic and F2 and the ‘one and only’ Dicky Gale :notworthy: .

I've got to thank both these guys and their families for allowing me to ‘drop’ into their homes, drink their beer, eat their food and shoot stupid questions at them.

The season is upon us now and this show heralds the return of some proper music with lots more to come over the 2014 season. Good luck to all of you racing this year, be safe kids!
