Firstly I am not too sure if chassis is an original or copy, or if it's just the swing arm... It's plated up "Derbyshire 92" on the inboard side of the arm.
The front end is 'off set', looking at it, it is 1-2" off set to the outside.......is this usual?
any ideas..?

Lee that sounds a bit vague do you mean the wheel isn't central of the yokes or the headstock is offset?
From memory the centreline of the back tyre and front tyre should be within 75mm limits, with the front wheel inside as per a trike.

I'd expect it to do odd things if the wheel's not in the middle of the line through from the headstock. Like a shopping trolley with a wonky wheel

I currently have a 1984 gsx1100 outfit that had the front wheel approx. 1/2" off to one side. when I first saw it I said to myself that must be changed, the front wheel must be dead centre or else it will do weird things, like a drunken shopping trolley. I had new rim halves spun up , machined the hub and bingo. The wheel was dead centre. took it to a race meeting and discovered it made not one bit of difference. Very surprising. A mate has an identical chassis and his front wheel is even more offset (to the right) than mine was. I have ridden his and again I say I cannot pick any problem. I previously thought the problem might be pulling up in a straight line. But not so both oufits brake straight as an arrow.
