Trail plates

Hi,
We have a windle, one of the first 4 stroke windles I believe, what size plate do people recommend for adjustable trail? 2mm?
I seem to be having difficulties with left handers. At Angelsey at weekend I was finding more difficult to steer into the lefts as the sessions went on, it is not heavy to steer but I have aching arms this morning, never had this before now. Also I seem to be getting blisters on my left hand, from pulling the handle bars. This also happened at Val de Vienne. I am definately not entering the lefts as fast as other people, I think this is a confidence issue though.
When we last measured the trail, I think it was around 6mm. Will lowering this to around 2mm help you think? Like I said earlier, it doesn't feel heavy to steer at all, just gets harder as the race goes on. I don't seem to have the same problems with right handers either, strange.
