Aintree 15/6 Full Grid

It is so good to see a full grid of any class let alone sidecars in this day and age, the weather was a bit iffy early on but a bit of wind and yer typical Simpson's clouds in the sky meant things would only get better. By the time racing started the track was dry with the sun starting to break through but a coolish westerly wind kept us spectators on our toes for the rest of the day.
Eight F1 (Open Class) and fifteen F2's were listed and the prospect of great racing was never far a way. Dave Holden was back on his trusty Windle LWB and made light work of his power advantage even if Trevor Robinson and Ben Sergent gave him a run for his money in every race. Ever improving Alan Founds/Tom Peters were not far behind after disspensing with brother Pete and Steve Founds who over cooked it at Village in race 3. Alan Molyneux/Andy Hailwood were pushing hard all day with a good 4th place in race 1, which gave them a decent start possition for the points race , but a overheating problem forced them to sit the second race out till the problem was sorted. Robert and P[hil Biggs were on the pace with their Ex Chris Founds LCR Yamaha, Vince Biggs and Guy Scott were making steady progress in a very competetive F2 class on yet another well turned out machine.
