I've been to quarterbridge, not the railway yet. The Crosby was good, with a great place for the boys to play outside and the park over the road is great, don't do it when the roads are closed. The Highlander food was better.
The Glen Helen was the first night Jo and myself 'went out' so will always hold a place close to my heart. It still looks like a ski hotel from a Bond film in the 70's but that was fine.

I did the early morning bus with Helen the Witch a few years ago and we stopped for breakfast there, with Roy Hanks and Dave Wells ( THE Dave Wells) talking us round the lap. I think Roy said it was all Dave's fault, and Dave just gave that knowing glance that newcomers need now about drivers

The Mitre in Kirkmichael is the site of the memorial seat to Dave Savile... was excellent food last time I was there, but places here change hands all the time, so I don't know now.
The Swan in Ramsey was good last year, but I've never sampled the one on the other side of the road.
The Ginger Hall is great... Gary Compsty, who runs it, is a sidecar man , and there's good food, excellent beer and a roaring fire on a cold day. Think I might spend a day there at TT time...
