Lap time on a bicycle?

I know Coxy did 3 laps at a good pace, but what sort of time would it take to do one lap?

I've been asked to bring it up as someone is going to have a go and wondered what a good time would be. Would you be interested in joining them for a lap?

I'm having a lie down. My system was so shocked by the idea of cycling (CYCLING ...are you completely mad or Coxy? ) round the TT Mountain Course, that I may have to seek counselling....

Anyone remember Geoff Johnson, Loctite Yam works rider in the eighties? He used to cycle the TT course every year, fit as a fiddle, dropped dead of a stroke aged 42 or maybe even younger. Clearly it's not good for you.

Ooh, er!! I've recently taken up cycling at the age of 58 - currently doing 50 to 100 miles a week and enjoying every minute!
Doing the Devon Coast to Coast next month.
Who'd have thought it?! LOL

I've worked that out at 26.98mph. I'd struggle to do that on bruv's BMW

we did it last year ,at an easy pace ,in 2 hours 20 minutes.It was misty all through glen Helen to Sulby ,Creg Willys and Lambfell let your legs know their working. The climb up the mountain just needs a sensible pace , do not rush you'll burn out. On the descent we hit 46 mph ,with 2459 feet of climbing.Aiming to do it again with 53/39 instead of 50 /34, looking for maximum time of 2 hours.

I found perhaps surprisingly the hardest part was through glen Helen up creg willys the tarmac is really open and draggy feels like your riding in quicksand, the mountains not too bad really providing your not into a block headwind ill be over for the manx helping Phil mcgurk, so if anyone fancies a ride not necessarily " a lap" there is far more to go at than that, let me know
