Oldest driver / passenger at TT...

Do you know a relative, old friend, acquaintance or whatever, who has raced in the sidecar TT and might qualify as the oldest driver or passenger... would need to be over 87 to beat Stan Dibben (passenger) or 88 to beat Bran Bardsley (driver)... they do not have to be someone famous... just to have raced in the sidecar TT... which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year... likely candidates would have raced sometime after 1954, when the class was revived after a long break (on the Clypse Course). If you have any suggestions or info... please PM me...

Not a lot... it actually looks like a bit of an impossible task as there are loads of one-off people who we will probably never be able to identify. Bran, Derek and Stan seem to be the oldest contenders at present.

Robin, Stan's son

was in his 76th year 2012

Is this for people that were actually racing Helen or had raced? Is Robin the oldest sidecar rider to take part and finish in a TT ?

I'm sure Robin's record will never be beaten... unless Roy h keeps going into his 80s!
I was trying to establish the oldest surviving competitor... the oldest surviving TT rider used to be a lovely man from Edinburgh, who died at 104, but I don't think it will ever be conclusively decided who is the oldest survivor from the sidecar class, as so many people competed only once and we don't know where they are/were, or if they are still alive. Mission impossible, i think!
