As title - just seen a post on Julie's FB (I don't do FB) - that the FSRA PC & F350 meeting is to be run on the short circuit on the Saturday - nothing about that in the regs - circuit is down in the regs as "National circuit,2.17 miles" - anyone confirm ?

Thanks Tim - can't say I'm over keen on that really - much prefer the full circuit - don't suppose it will earn a cheaper entry fee for Saturday either

Sorry John - was forgetting some "details"...
OK - just curious you understand - but would the short circuit be cheaper to hire (per day) than the full circuit ?

Must say - it was a big surprise to see the "news" on the A66 site - when it's been in the regs as "National circuit, 2.17 miles" since the start of the year - a bit like getting served a "half" for the cost of a pint ?

As Tim has suggested elsewhere, the most likely cause is the problem getting enough marshals on a Saturday, not so much of a problem on a Sunday.

Agree Steve, may also be cheaper to hire the circuit especially if the entries are low the club would not be getting the revenue in. At one time everyone loved the short circuit when it was held has the Bill Ivy meeting.

I guess it depends which circuit layout they are talking about...
The few "short circuit" meetings I did at Cadwell years ago - the "club" circuit was always used - from memory - the "Woodland" circuit didn't get used very often - other than for the Billy Ivy meeting as you say - only ever did that meeting once - but as you say - it was popular - and preferable to the "club" circuit - which - according to the A66 site is what they intend using for that Saturday.

Im Soooooo pleased Im not going.
You make your chioce to enter a race meeting based on the information supplied to you in the entry forms, then after youve sent your cheque off, they move the goalposts.
Its a bit like entering to race at Silverstone, and then at the last minute being told your actually racing at three sisters.
Well, people were already thinking of doing one day at Cadwell, and the Sunday at Mallory,I wouldnt blame them if they now thought why bother with Cadwell at all?

I think the short circuit will be the other end Pat.

Speaking unofficially for the F350 and PC classes I suggest the 2 class reps and the FSRA rep are requested to contact the club to insist they change plans back to the original status (full circuit both days) OR allow our classes to withdraw from this meeting altogether amicably. As there is not much time to negotiate this must happen sooner rather than later. It appears goalposts can be moved so let us try to move them back.

Having spoken to Auto 66 this morning, on behalf of the FSRA F350/Post Classic teams this is the reason.

Cadwell Park Bonanza 27th/28th October

Change of format - With entries flowing in for the end of season race Bonanza theres been an ever increasing demand from competitors wanting signatures on their licences for two separate circuits, so the club have decided to run on the Club Circuit on the Saturday and the National Circuit on Sunday, this was done two years ago and proved very popular.

Sidecars are coming in very quickly, Dave Molyneaux has already stated his interest, so it will be interesting to see the FSRA 350 and Classic sidecar Races as well as the Clubs normal modern classes.
Entry fees remain the same has printed in the regulations for a 2 day meeting.

I hope this clears up the matter
