Re wind to a couple of TT'S ago when I was about to introduce my 3 kids to the full IOM experience, I did lots of internet searching to find new places to take them to such as Nairbyl and the Ayres nature reserve besides touring the paddock and the old favourites such as Douglas Prom/The Strand/ Bushy's , Laxey wheel, Blah, Blah,,,,,,

Then once the recent TT film had been released I became mesmerised by the scene of Guy Martin parked up on a beach at what looked like some distant location that could easily have been shot on the other side of the world,,,,,,,or is it I thought ?
I can't really say where it is to be honest but we found the exact spot and stayed all day with no mither from anyone at all....

To my point:
Before we set off for the IOM I found piece of information that prompted me to go out and buy my kids ear defenders to protect their shell like ears from a noise that would be etched on their minds forever,I took it as gospel that many teams would run un silenced engines as allowed in the TT road race regulations I was so disappointed to find the only one I could identify during practice was the Moto 2 machine ridden by Olly Lindsdell......

So my suggestion is to get the sidecar field for 2013 to run straight through pipes to give the sounds back to the spectators and to give them a reason to want to see sidecars for another decade at least........

The Norton sounded pretty good, and I loved the 650s... proper race noise.

Want you need is some proper race engines,preferably with some 2 strokes thrown in as well.
It would also create interest if there was some variety in the way the bikes looked,who wants to watch a load of bikes that all look and sound the same?These comments apply to the solos even more than the sidecars.

Bring back the Honda 6 and MV 3's, those who are to young to have heard them missed something special

Sorry to be a bit of a killjoy here but I'm not in favour of unsilenced bikes. My hearing loss is permanent and greatly inconvenient. Personally I found the Honda 6 actually painful to my ears.
I like the sound of a good engine but not at the cost of my hearing. Nowadays people are better educated about noise damage. I wonder how many of us who were exposed to loud bikes, music and industrial noise are now paying the price. I would urge anybody to use earplugs or ear defenders where necessary. I'm lucky, my hearing loss is only partial but I wouldn't like to lose any more.
