they have a lot of marshalls at that track dont they ?. ah not marshalls spectators. well when they say close to the action they mean it

Here's a couple of things going wrong on a street race in NZ
skip to the 4.00 mark if you don't want to watch the whole thing
The #2 outfit leading the race is a hub centre steer and still races today and is #4 in the next one

Pretty sure he was
All our street races have haybales or airfence on corners and are deer fenced the rest of the track with designated crossing areas controlled by marshalls
Originally the street races here didn't have anything around them except for maybe some bales on the corners and it wasn't unusual to find people crossing the track while the racing was on
