We missed the first evenings practice due to us traveling over to the island, but the next days offerings were superb....
Mondays racing was fantastic in all departments and by the time the Sidecars came out the sun started to shine...I had my money on Nick Houghton and Paul Thomas on their rather quick Nourish Weslake, they must have been gutted to bow out on lap 3 after holding a healthy 4 second lead over Vince and Phil Biggs,,,,,,
Vince went on to win by another obscene distance over the second outfit on the road, after another poor performance from Ralf Englehardt who most people I spoke to had come to see.
Finish order was,
1, 1, Vince and Phil Biggs ;1000 Busch BMW
2, 6, Eddy Toombs and Bob Dowty ; 980 BMW
3, 11, Ian Slater and Tim Dixon : 1000 Norton Equippe
4, 10, Wal Saunders and Alison De Ar 980 MRE BMW
5, 69, Dick Hawes and Paul Bumphrey 980 BMW
6, 14, Lenny Palister and IAN Mariner 750 Triumph
7, 16, Charlie Cope and Louise Nichol 998 IMP
DNF 12, Nick Cutmore and Nancy Thomas 750 Triton,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,3 laps
DNF 2, Nick Houghton and Paul Thomas 900 Nourish Weslake,,,,,,2 laps.
DNF 8, Albert price and Dicky Gale 750 Yamaha,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2 laps
DNF 3, Ralf Engelhardt and Winfried Viecenz 980 Busch BMW,,,,,,,,,,1 lap

A big thank you to each and every person who is involved with the Southern 100 club, you have a mighty fine asset and run a sweet road race meeting in every department.
It is no wonder riders are prepared to travel from far and wide to compete on the circuit even if it means they only get one ride......

Regards
Fritz and Family....
