I believe some people are under the impression that there has been an extension to the qualifying date, to some date in April.
I can find no confirmation of this, so I suggest you assume it is not the case and get your signatures as soon as possible.

If last year is any guide, there could be an extension for 'certain people'. If I had known there was going to be an extension last year I would have been able to do the TT. As you know, I can see absolutely no point to this silly licence requirement and I certainly can't see why there needs to be such an early deadline.
Either way, I won't be at TT 2011, as a result.
With a likely shortage of entries I would have thought that the powers-that-be would be trying to encourage competitors, not put further obstacles in the way.
I wonder how many people would be delaying a decision in these uncertain times but find that the deadline removes that option.

When is the official deadline ?

Does it finish from 1st march 2010 to 31st march 2011 or 31st march 10 to 31st march 11 ?
I ask this because if it's from 1/3/10 I have the 6 finishes; but if it's from the 31/3/10, I only have 4 due to not having a passenger for most of the year, and I can't get out racing in March this year as I have two broken wrists and don't have the casts taken off until the middle of March.
Who do I ring if this is going to be a problem so i can sort something out ?
cheers
dean

This should clear up the misunderstanding taken from the mountain course licen application form"
Documentary evidence of the following additional requirements must be supplied with this application:
2011 Isle of Man TT Races: All applicants must have competed satisfactorily in at least 6 Road Race meetings in the 12 months expiring 31 March 2011.
Closing dates for receipt of application forms: 13 April 2011.

It would be an extremely tedious DVD as most of it would consist of "Get your head down here for the next three miles and just stare at the floor/radiator/drivers leg etc....". There are certain parts of the TT course I haven't seen for years. I only get to see them if I go for a drive in a van!

Once took the late Jimmy Law

round the TT course, and he kept exclaiming.."OH! Look at that"

, at everything we passed. He had no idea where he was when we stopped at the Sulby

...he said "I've never seen anything except the kerbs before

!"
