Press release regarding TT lap - legendary riders

Wal mentioned this lap on the Moly's retirement thread and rather than hijack that thread, I thought I'd ask my questions here.
What's a 'genuine replica'?? Surely it's one or the other?
How did Stanley Woods ride a velo in 48 and 49, when he retired from the T in 1939?
I've not read any more of the press release!

I don't care what it's called, I hate parade laps!!!! (Just my personal opinion, of course!)

Totaly agree Jo. The organizers build them up to be something they never can be. The money should be spent elsewhere, ( the money in question wont be small change either.)

Not to mention the parade lap often takes precedence over the actual racing if the weather's looking a bit dodgy!
Still think that press release is a bit shoddy too!

Should spend the money on a medical officer..........(wont go there)
