got chains for the truck, but have never used them. when i was doing italy, we used to spend days at a time driving on snow (in artic`s) just slow down, dont take stupid chances, and travel only if you HAVE to in these conditions. its the `brave` idiots who cause the problems.

Been teaching wife to drive in the snow ,first thing she does puts the brakes on and wonders why we slide USE THE GEARS !! be smooth and you will be fine
Coming back from Scarbourough the other day, learner driver having lesson pulls straight out of side road had to take evasive action !!
sorry ladies but SHE was to busy chatting to the instructor to notice the junction if I had not known what to do she would be dead now my car weighs over a ton and she was in a clio (its as easy as that !)
So my point is take your time and pay attention
